Draft for Milton Bridge's lawyers — not final

Last updated

DRAFT FOR MB LAWYERS — not final. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Milton Bridge collects through this website, why we collect it, where it is kept, how long we keep it and what rights you have over it. In short: we only collect what you type into our forms so that we can answer your enquiry, we keep it on our own server, we do not use it for marketing and we do not sell or pass it to anyone for marketing.

1. Who we are

The controller of your personal data is Milton Bridge [full legal entity name, licence number and registered address — MB TO CONFIRM]. In this policy "Milton Bridge", "MB", "we" and "us" mean that company.

Milton Bridge helps companies, funds and individuals set up in the United Arab Emirates, including company registration, visas, Emirates ID, bank accounts, accounting, relocation and concierge services.

For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to privacy@miltonbridge.ae [MB TO CONFIRM mailbox].

2. Which law applies

We process personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the PDPL).

If Milton Bridge operates from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) or the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the data protection regulations of that free zone may apply instead of the PDPL. [MB LAWYERS TO CONFIRM which regime applies.]

3. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal data collected through this website: the forms you fill in and the cookie that stores your cookie choice.

When you become a client, your personal data is processed under a separate engagement agreement and the privacy terms that come with it. [MB TO CONFIRM that a separate client privacy notice exists or will be provided.]

4. What we collect

We collect personal data only when you send us a form on this website. Our forms are: "call me back", "talk to the expert", the contact form, the cost calculator and the limited-offer request. Depending on the form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your phone number and/or email address;
  • your message, if you choose to write one;
  • the service you selected;
  • the cost calculator inputs you entered: business activity, number of visas and number of shareholders;
  • the address (URL) of the page from which you sent the form;
  • your consent tick.

5. What we do not collect

We do not store your IP address with your enquiry. Your IP address is used only transiently to protect our forms from abuse (limiting how many requests can be sent in a short period), and is not kept with your data.

We do not use analytics, advertising cookies, social media pixels or other third-party tracking on this website. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser does not contact Google or any other font provider when you visit.

6. Why we use your data

We use the data you send us for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, where you ask for it, to prepare a cost estimate or a consultation.

We process it on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box before sending a form, and because you have asked us to take steps before possibly entering into an agreement with us. [MB LAWYERS TO CONFIRM the legal bases under the applicable regime.]

We do not send marketing emails from this website, and we do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

7. Where your data is stored

Form submissions are stored in Milton Bridge's own database on a dedicated server operated for Milton Bridge, located in a data centre within the European Union. [MB TO CONFIRM server location and the operator of the server.]

Because the server is located outside the UAE, storing your data there is a transfer of personal data outside the UAE. [MB LAWYERS TO CONFIRM the basis for this transfer and any wording required for it under the applicable regime.]

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

8. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not give it to anyone for marketing.

Your enquiry is read by Milton Bridge staff who need it to answer you. We may disclose personal data where the law requires us to, for example to a competent authority. [MB LAWYERS TO CONFIRM this wording.]

If you later engage us and a service requires us to share your information with a government authority or a vendor (for example for a visa or a concierge service), that sharing happens under your engagement agreement, not under this website policy.

9. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, and then delete them. If you become a client, your data is kept under the terms of your engagement agreement instead. [MB TO CONFIRM retention period.]

You can ask us to delete your enquiry earlier at any time (see section 11).

10. How we protect your data

We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and rate limiting against abuse of our forms. [MB TO CONFIRM any further security measures to describe.]

No system is completely secure. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will act as the applicable law requires, including notifying authorities and you where required.

11. Your rights

Under the PDPL you have the following rights over your personal data, subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in the law:

  • access: to ask whether we hold data about you and to receive a copy;
  • correction: to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected;
  • erasure: to have your data deleted;
  • restriction: to ask us to limit how we use your data;
  • objection: to object to our processing of your data;
  • data portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format, where applicable;
  • withdrawal of consent: to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before you withdrew it.

12. How to exercise your rights

Write to privacy@miltonbridge.ae [MB TO CONFIRM mailbox] and tell us which right you want to exercise. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on your request.

We will respond within the period required by law.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the competent data protection authority. [MB LAWYERS TO CONFIRM the competent authority and its contact details under the applicable regime.]

13. Cookies and links to other services

This website uses only one cookie, which remembers your cookie choice. Details are in our Cookie Policy.

The WhatsApp button on this website is a plain link to wa.me. No WhatsApp script is loaded on our pages. If you click it, WhatsApp opens and the terms and privacy policy of WhatsApp / Meta apply to what you send there.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if what the website does with personal data changes, for example if we add analytics. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
